Chapter 140 Chaos on the East Coast

Chapter 142 Chaos on the East Coast (5/5)

The documentary "Tupac" simply describes the shooting incident that occurred in Tupac in 94.

It's likely that Eminem was under immense pressure while making this documentary, hence his understatement.

But there was one point he didn't avoid.

That's because of the shooting, which exacerbated the conflict between Tupac and East Coast rap.

According to the documentary, BIG and his men were watching as he was shot.

Tupac sought help from BIG, but BIG and others coldly refused.

His injuries from the shooting were not serious, and he was discharged from the hospital 18 hours later.

But what did he do after leaving the hospital? The documentary doesn't describe it, but there's a veiled description in "8 Mile"—Tupac probably went to participate in a battle, and then his conflict with Puff and others escalated again.

Tupac later claimed that Puff and BIG orchestrated the incident, but provided no evidence.

BIG released the single "WhoShotYa".

Although he claimed it was a response to DF, with whom he had dealt in the past, Tupac viewed it as a provocation.

The conflict between the East and West coasts has become highly volatile.

In 96, Tupac released the single "Hit "EmUp", claiming it was a response to provocations from the East Coast rap scene.

In this song, he also admitted for the first time that he had an affair with Firth.

But that year, Faith rose to fame with "You Used to Love Me," winning the Best New Artist in R&B/Soul or Rap at the 2nd Soul Train Women's Music Awards, and her album "Faith" won Best R&B/Soul Album. She stated that she has no connection to Tupac and claimed to reserve the right to sue.

Soon after, Tupac was shot again, and this time he was unlucky and died on the spot.

The gunman was later arrested and it was discovered that he came from a Las Vegas gang.

But the gunman stated that he shot Tupac not out of personal grudge, but because he was employed by Puff.

Puff stated that he had nothing to do with the incident, claiming that Tupac's overly flamboyant personality led to his murder. However, the police investigation concluded that there was no conclusive evidence linking Puff to the incident. The true reason for Tupac's murder is still under investigation.

Well, the investigation started in 96 and continued for 26 years, but there were still no results.

The following year, BIG was shot and killed.

The East and West Coast rap scenes have suffered a fatal blow. Reed and Snoopy have disappeared from the public eye, while the East Coast has Jay Chou.

Z rose to prominence and at one point suppressed West Coast gangsta rap—until rapgod Eminem burst onto the scene.

To put it bluntly, it's just some trivial, ridiculous thing.

But Eminem's documentary was indeed well-made, and it even improved the life of Tupac's mother, Afenny.

In this timeline, Tupac was still shot.

But they weren't injured, and they even dragged BIG, who was uninvolved in the original timeline, into it.

One o'clock in the morning.

Yes, it's already December 1st.

Jessica arrived at the police station first and completed the formalities for Xu Shengjie.

Police determined that Xu Shengjie acted in self-defense and was not negligent; the shooting of Rabbit Teeth was accidental, and the gunman remains in a coma in the hospital. However, police have confirmed that the gunman's name is Lasso, and he belongs to the 421 gang on 54th Street.

Tupac was subsequently acquitted.

Although BIG was cleared of suspicion, he could only be released on bail because of his provocation at the scene, as well as the testimonies of Annie and others.

When Xu Shengjie and Tupac finished their paperwork and arrived at the police station lobby, they saw BIG embracing a black woman with black hair.

"That's Fess?"

Xu Shengjie asked Tupac out of curiosity.

Tupac shook his head and said softly, "That's Lil King, Kimberly Denise Jones."

Xu Shengjie stared at that face, momentarily dazed.

Oh, I remember now! She's one of the singers of "Lady Marmalade," the theme song from "Moulin Rouge!" No wonder it sounded so familiar.

The reason I remember it is because Xu Shengjie watched the complete version of "Moulin Rouge".

One of the lead singers of this theme song is Christina Aguilera and P!nk. Lil King also starred in the music video with them, posing provocatively in it. She's the only Black singer among the four, hence her presence.

"Why isn't Faith here?"

Tupac rolled his eyes. "How should I know?"

After saying that, he walked towards BIG.

BIG immediately pulled Lil King behind him.

"BIG, I know you have nothing to do with this, you're not that kind of person."

But let me be clear, I really don't know what happened that day—if you still want revenge, I'll take it. A battle, a real fight, whatever, draw the line, we'll fight one-on-one. You can kill me, I'm fine with it, I'd even sign a death pact with you. But I still need to warn you, there's something really wrong with this.”

BIG seems to have calmed down by now.

He looked at Tupac, then suddenly looked up and then at Xu Shengjie.

"You'll look terrible without that yellow-skinned crusher."

That matter is in the past!

But if I find out you're involved, I promise I'll kill you.

"Be careful of Puff. I used to think he was a tough guy, but now—if you're not confident, don't mess with him."

Tupac has a history of interaction with BIG.

Back when BIG was still Nobady, I followed him for a time, hoping to go to the West Coast with him.

Tupac recommended him to Puff, and unexpectedly—

After saying that, Tupac turned and left.

Manken also came, along with Theron and Manny.

Harris wasn't in New York, so she didn't show up. But she called Theron and asked her to tell Xu Shengjie that she would return to New York at dawn.

"Jeff, what happened? I heard someone died?"

"It's a long story, let's go back and talk about it."

Menken gritted his teeth and said, "This isn't over. I asked Disney to warn 421, but they ignored it. I'll put pressure on the NYPD. Jeffrey, you need to say something too."

"How should we express our opinion?"

"You're a member of WGAE."

"I know what to do!"

Xu Shengjie then nodded.

The group then left the police station.

However, he was stopped by ABC reporters waiting outside the police station.

"Director Jeffrey, I heard there was a shooting. What happened? Tell me something."

Because of Susanna's presence and Xu Shengjie's script being under review, ABC is essentially one family.

Therefore, Xu Shengjie was very gentle with the ABC reporter and even asked Manny to run to the coffee shop next door to buy a few cups of hot coffee.

It was already past 2 a.m., almost 3 a.m.

In New York City during winter, the temperature drops significantly at night.

"Here's the thing, today I was in the recording studio with Menken working on the theme song for 'Lola,' and Tupac was working in the next recording booth. Basically, he had a little argument with Big, and then suddenly a gunman ran out and started shooting at him, killing one of his friends as well. Tupac and I are good friends, so we rushed over and stopped the gunman."

What I want to say is that I never imagined such ruthless people would appear in Midtown Manhattan, in the heart of Manhattan's most bustling commercial district. This isn't the fault of the NYPD; I just want to say that some gang members are far too arrogant.

Here, I announce a donation of $100,000 to the New York Police Department to upgrade their equipment and better protect the citizens of New York City.

Tupac chimed in, "I'll also donate 100,000!"

Manken stood to the side, smiling without saying a word.

BIG escorted Lil King into the car and drove away.

Tupac, along with his entourage, headed straight for the airport. He was going to take the earliest flight of the day to leave New York and fly back to Los Angeles.

Manken, Annie, and a few others said goodbye to Xu Shengjie.

Xu Shengjie then got into Theron's car.

After getting on the bus, I immediately relaxed.

He leaned against Theron, while Manny drove ahead, along the dark streets, toward Theron's rented apartment.

Has Tupac's fate been changed?

Xu Shengjie wasn't sure.

But it seems that things have eased somewhat between him and BIG.

But BIG and Puff will likely continue to have disagreements.

BIG looks simple and honest, but if you underestimate him because of that, you're bound to be in trouble.

No one who emerges from Clinton Hill is innocent—

This guy started FD at 12 and became a street boss at 16, which is Clocker's superior. How damn innocent can he be?

He was arrested at age 17 for illegal possession of a weapon and sentenced to five years of probation; at age 18, he was arrested again for violating the probation terms and sentenced to three months in prison.

At 19, he went to North Carolina for illegal possession of cocaine and was sentenced to nine months in prison.

Is this guy even remotely honest?

It's just that his appearance is too deceptive. If he had a face like Danny Trejo, he would probably be in jail for three to five years.

The East Coast rap scene is about to get exciting!

Thinking of this, Xu Shengjie couldn't help but smile in a subtle way.
