Chapter 20 No Need to Comfort Me
Chapter 20 No Need to Comfort Me
The moon is so round tonight.
After seeing his agent off and closing the door, Wu Haiyuan walked slowly to the balcony, looked up at the night sky, and said something that made him want to disappear into the ground.
Han Xijun was about to look up.
Wu Haiyuan quickly changed the subject: "Is it hot?"
Han Xijun replied, "I think so."
Bending down, rolling up the cuffs of his jeans, Wu Haiyuan, sitting next to Han Xijun, carefully extended his right foot.
The soles of my feet gently touched the hot spring water.
The pool of water looked ordinary, but the temperature was higher than I had imagined.
It wasn't unacceptable; it was just right for Wu Haiyuan.
With his legs in the pool, Wu Haiyuan supported himself on the edge of the pool and looked up again.
Realizing he couldn't look up, Wu Haiyuan casually asked, "How's work?"
Han Xijun smiled and said, "It went very smoothly."
Wu Haiyuan chimed in, "Are you developing an app?"
Han Xijun turned to look at Wu Haiyuan.
He guessed that Wu Haiyuan was creating another opportunity for himself to promote the AI R&D department of KAKAO Group.
So Han Hee-joon asked, "Are you still filming?"
Wu Haiyuan paused for a moment, then shook his head and said, "No."
"That won't help with advertising."
Han Xijun lifted his feet out of the pool and stood up first.
Under Wu Haiyuan's watchful eye, he walked straight to the table by the door.
I picked up the selfie stick, turned on the camera lens, checked the battery level, and then walked back to the balcony.
He skillfully set up the selfie stick's tripod, adjusted the lens, and positioned it so that it could capture Han Xijun and Wu Haiyuan's profiles.
After doing all that, Han Xijun put his feet into the hot spring pool.
Wu Haiyuan murmured, "You know how to use a selfie stick?"
Han Xijun shrugged and said, "I'm not an old man."
Wu Haiyuan quickly explained, "That's not what I meant, it's just that you haven't..."
I think that from the moment we met in the morning to the start of filming, Han Hee-joon didn't pay any attention to the selfie stick, and he didn't fidget with it when he held it.
and many more.
Can a selfie stick be extended into a tripod?
It seems the PD demonstrated it to him, but Wu Haiyuan really forgot and treated the selfie stick as a regular selfie stick that connects to a phone.
How embarrassing!
Even without watching a demonstration, Han Xijun knew how to do it.
wrong.
He was originally a genius from KAIST, a science and engineering student, so he must be very familiar with high-tech things and electronic devices.
There's nothing shameful about it.
Han Xijun looked at Wu Haiyuan quietly.
It's amazing.
There really are people who, just like characters in movies and TV shows, constantly change their expressions and space out by themselves.
I just can't hear the "monologue".
One can guess that Wu Haiyuan was probably thinking to himself about fiddling with the selfie stick.
Han Xijun suddenly suggested, "Isn't it a bit too quiet?"
Coming to his senses, Wu Haiyuan didn't hear what Han Xijun said and asked, "What did you just say?"
Han Xijun got up for the second time, saying as he walked, "I'll go get the beer. Can you find a good song?"
Good songs?
The camera lens has been turned back on; Han Hee-joon is giving himself a chance to promote his group.
I haven't had a chance to bring up the topic of the group yet, but now the opportunity has arrived.
Wu Haiyuan readily agreed, "Okay, I'll find the song."
Holding the beer and edamame I bought from the convenience store.
The first thing they took out was a bottle of zero-alcohol fruit beer. They pulled the tab on the can, and there was no sound of bubbles. They placed one bottle between the two of them. Han Xijun then took the second can in his hand.
Without opening the edamame packaging, the zero-alcohol fruit beer should be fine without any snacks.
Wu Haiyuan has already found the right songs.
The tranquil environment, with its hot springs, is perfect for listening to slow-paced songs or old country-style folk songs from the United States.
Normally, Wu Haiyuan would make this decision.
But this was during a TV show recording, and Wu Haiyuan undoubtedly chose NMIXX's debut title track.
I turned the volume up a bit and clicked play.
The prelude begins.
Wu Haiyuan has already committed to it.
It's a natural bodily reaction.
Han Xijun, sitting next to Wu Haiyuan, unconsciously frowned upon hearing the intro.
The tune sounded a bit "eerie" to Han Xijun when he first heard it.
Especially in the back garden of the guesthouse where there were only two people, there were no insects or frogs chirping, and the breeze made the IV drip rustle. In addition, the intro sounded like a tribal horn being blown at the beginning, creating a terrifying and ritualistic scene that entered Han Xijun's mind.
Thankfully, Wu Haiyuan asked Han Xijun with an expectant tone, "Have you heard this song before?"
With dialogue, terror ceases to exist.
Han Xijun replied honestly, "Never heard of it."
Wu Haiyuan already had the answer in his mind before he asked the question.
Han Xijun is not a fan of celebrities.
If you're a fan of celebrities, you'll have a lot to talk about on the plane, and Wu Haiyuan is confident he can handle any topic related to K-pop.
It's perfectly normal for someone who doesn't follow K-pop to not know anything about K-pop songs.
Although this song is the title track "OO" from NMIXX's debut album.
Just as I was about to introduce this song to Han Xijun, Han Xijun added, "I don't usually listen to music."
Wu Haiyuan asked in surprise, "You won't listen at all?"
Han Xijun nodded and said, "Yeah, they won't listen at all."
Wu Haiyuan, curious, pressed further, "Why?"
Han Xijun said calmly, "It will be distracting."
Trying to understand.
Being distracted means that listening to music affects other things.
Wu Haiyuan thought it wouldn't happen.
She listened to music while doing her homework; she did this almost every day during her school years.
and many more.
It seems like I get distracted.
Wu Haiyuan recalled that when he was doing his homework at home, he would listen to a song and suddenly sing along a few lines. When he started singing, he would naturally stop doing his homework.
Can a person be so ruthless to themselves?
In order to concentrate, I do nothing that might distract me.
With eyes full of admiration, Wu Haiyuan looked up slightly at Han Xijun's profile and concluded, "That's why you're a genius, and that's why you succeeded."
The pace quickened.
Full of dynamism.
Han Xijun didn't answer, but instead asked Wu Haiyuan, "Is this song from your group?"
Wu Haiyuan nodded along with the rhythm of the music, instantly switching into the role of the leader of the NMIXX group, and began to talk non-stop about the debut title track to Han Xijun.
Holding up three fingers, Wu Haiyuan said, "It's a MIXXPOP genre that belongs only to us, which combines Trap, Baile Funk, and Teenage Pop Rock."
The speaking speed slowed down.
Han Xijun sensed Wu Haiyuan's sudden drop in mood.
The guess is that this original genre failed to gain market acceptance.
Whether it's a song or an app.
To put it simply, they are all products from various market sectors.
It's certainly disappointing and disheartening when a product that has undergone repeated research and testing and is finally launched to the market with high expectations fails to gain recognition.
Han Xijun said proactively, "Trying something new is always a good start. Someone has to take the path of innovation, and I think this song is pretty good."
Wu Haiyuan looked incredulous and muttered, "Don't try to comfort me, really."
"What I said is true."
"real?"
"Um"
"Thank you, I really like our song."
"A lot of people will like it."
"Actually, the choreography is also quite impressive. Would you like to see the music video?"
Han Xijun nodded and said, "Okay, I'll learn from you while I'm at it."
