Chapter 2 Past and Future
Chapter 2 Past and Future
Looking out the window to the left, all I could see was a world shrouded in rain.
But on the right, there was a clear blue sky and white clouds, a scene of boundless sunshine.
This bizarre scene left Chen Ran and Jessica stunned for a moment.
After a moment of stunned silence, the two of them opened their respective windows almost simultaneously.
The window on the left is open.
The clear sound of raindrops continued in her ears, and a gentle breeze carrying moisture brushed against Jessica's cheeks, clearing her somewhat muddled mind.
Jessica reached out her hand.
Raindrops hit her hands, the texture real, and the water droplets lingered in her palms.
It's true, it really is raining outside.
She turned to look at Chen Ran, her pupils dilating slightly.
The warm yellow sunlight shone on Chen Ran's face, and the sun shone brightly outside the window.
Jessica could even hear a few birds chirping.
What exactly is going on?
At this moment, Chen Ran turned his head and looked over.
"Should we...go out and take a look?"
This situation doesn't seem like rebirth or time travel; rather, it's more like the merging of two worlds.
Although his mind was a bit confused, the most important thing right now was to figure out what was going on.
Is it just this bedroom that's like this, or has the whole world become like this?
Jessica's eyes flickered for a moment, then she nodded: "Okay."
She also wanted to figure out the current situation.
Then, as if remembering something, she added, "You go first, and I'll go behind you."
Chen Ran nodded and walked towards the bedroom door first.
He and Jessica didn't know each other, so it's only natural that she would be wary of him.
Jessica watched Chen Ran walk a few meters before walking to the bedside, picking up her phone, and preparing to follow him.
But before he could take a step, he pulled it back.
She turned around, opened the bedside table drawer, took out a small stun gun, held it in her hand, and then followed him with peace of mind.
Chen Ran and Jessica walked to the bedroom door one after the other.
The bedroom doors were also pieced together; although they were all white, there was a doorknob on each side.
The two of them grabbed a doorknob at the same time, looked at each other, and then turned the doorknob simultaneously.
The bedroom door opens to the left and right from the joint.
Chen Ran and Jessica walked out of the bedroom.
In my line of sight, a clear dividing line seemed to extend from the bedroom door all the way to the front door.
The original dining room and kitchen of Chen Ran's house disappeared, replaced by a more technologically advanced and minimalist dining room and open kitchen.
In Jessica's eyes, however, her living room had disappeared, replaced by a completely different living room.
In short, it's like two houses were merged and pieced together.
The only thing that hasn't changed is that the guest rooms in both houses are still there, without any alterations.
After inspecting the house, Chen Ran and Jessica stood on either side of the splicing line and looked at each other.
"Shall we open the door and take a look?" Chen Ran asked.
"Okay." Jessica nodded.
Like the bedroom door, the main door has a clear dividing line in the middle and a doorknob on each side.
The two each grabbed a doorknob and turned it.
The door opened.
Just like the view from the bedroom, there was a downpour on the left and a clear blue sky on the right.
The two stood at the doorway, each looking out.
Everything was just as they remembered.
A few seconds later, the two closed the door and went back inside.
After standing still for a moment, Chen Ran looked up at Jessica and said, "Let's switch places. You come to my side, and I'll go to your side. Let's check what's going on."
"Okay." Jessica nodded.
The two switched positions, gripped the doorknob again, and applied slight pressure.
However, the door handle that had been easily turned just moments before was now completely still.
Ok?
The two exchanged a glance and simultaneously tightened their grip slightly.
The doorknob remained firmly in place.
Chen Ran withdrew his hand, looked at the doorknob, and pondered for a moment.
"Why don't you drive, and I'll watch from the side?"
"it is good."
Jessica walked over to Chen Ran and took the doorknob again.
But she immediately turned to look at Chen Ran, her eyes filled with wariness.
Chen Ran understood and took a few steps back to maintain a safe distance.
Jessica was relieved and quickly turned the doorknob.
"click"
The door opened with a click.
Standing behind Jessica, Chen Ran looked at the scene outside the door, his pupils slightly dilated.
The surrounding buildings are quite different from those on his side.
Chen Ran took two steps and reached out his hand.
Raindrops hit his hand instantly, the texture felt real, and the water droplets were real too.
So, is the world outside this door really 2025?
Then, Chen Ran tried to open the door on his side.
As before, it can be easily opened.
Jessica stared at the unfamiliar yet somewhat familiar buildings outside the door, speechless for a long time.
The two then tested it again and discovered that only they could open the door connecting their own world.
"Da, da, da"
The second hand of the living room clock ticked away as usual.
Chen Ran and Jessica sat at opposite ends of the sofa, maintaining a safe distance.
Chen Ran scribbled and drew on the A4 paper he found.
Jessica, however, was hugging a cushion with both hands and clutching a stun gun in her hand, her eyebrows slightly furrowed, seemingly lost in thought.
As she was thinking, she subconsciously glanced at Chen Ran beside her.
I didn't look closely before, but it turns out this man is quite handsome.
With thick eyebrows and big eyes, his facial features have an indescribable sense of harmony, and his profile is sharply defined.
"Tsk tsk, with that kind of looks, he could totally be the visual center of a boy band, and a god-like one at that," Jessica couldn't help but think to herself.
Hmm? Thinking about it now, this man's face does seem familiar, like I've definitely seen him somewhere before.
Could they really be from the same industry?
Jessica frowned slightly and began to search through her memories, but soon her expression froze.
She picked up the phone next to her, swiped her fingers, and finally found a photo in a chat window.
Open the photo and zoom in a bit.
Jessica glanced up again at Chen Ran, who was focused on writing and drawing.
It's confirmed, it's him, Chen Ran.
The person in that photo is Chen Ran in 2025.
It was Lee Soon-kyu who told her that Kim Tae-yeon liked younger men.
Moreover, Chen Ran is also a screenwriter, a very famous screenwriter in the future, one of the top people in the Peninsula Entertainment Industry.
It seems the two of them met around 17.
However, the little guy was too stubborn and never dared to confess his feelings.
Pah! Kim Tae-yeon, you deserve to be alone forever!
Jessica gets angry just thinking about that woman, Kim Tae-yeon.
Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck her, and her eyes lit up.
If I manage to win over Chen Ran, Jin Xiaoge will definitely be furious.
Although the shorter one may not have the chance to meet Chen Ran at this time.
But if I were to win over Chen Ran, it would be a way of getting revenge.
Jessica glanced at Chen Ran again.
With that look and figure, she's got potential for the future; no matter how you look at it, I'm not losing out.
and...
Jessica suddenly pursed her lips.
Over the past decade or so, she has actually done a lot of foolish things and has many regrets.
For example, someone might confidently launch their own fashion brand, only to find themselves unable to make ends meet and ultimately declare bankruptcy.
For example, she left the group in 14, which later forced her younger sister to leave the stage she loved.
For example, the departure of Sulli and Hara.
And now, this miraculous connection between two different time periods has happened to her. Isn't this an opportunity given to her by heaven?
She wanted to try to change the past and make up for the regrets of the past as much as possible.
As she pondered this, Jessica's expression suddenly turned cold.
At this time in 2012, I was about to meet that bastard Kwon Ning-il.
That marked the beginning of my unsatisfactory life for the next ten years.
This time, she must not repeat the same mistake.
And wanting to change the past...
Jessica glanced at Chen Ran, who was still writing something at his desk.
Now, only Chen Ran can open the door to 2012.
Therefore, she had to hold on tightly to Chen Ran.
