Chapter 450: No Interruptions
Chapter 450: No Interruptions
Natalia Steele stepped out of Miranda’s office, her heels clicking softly against the marble floor. The moment the door closed behind her, her breathing turned heavy and uneven. Her chest rose and fell rapidly, as if she had just finished running a long distance.
Her eyes, usually calm and seductive, now glowed with a faint red hue... a clear sign that her Succubus bloodline was reacting intensely. She clenched her fists tightly, her long nails digging into her palms as she tried to suppress the burning desire rising inside her.
She had barely managed to control herself inside the office.
If Miranda hadn’t been there... she might have lost control and attacked that man right then and there.
’This is it...’
Natalia leaned against the wall beside the office door, biting her lower lip hard. Her eyes were slightly unfocused, filled with raw hunger.
’This was the man she had been searching for ever since she developed this trait and learned about her skills.’
For years, she had met countless men... powerful, rich, talented... but none of them had ever triggered her instincts this violently. None of them had made her blood boil with such intense desire just from being in the same room.
But Alexander Hale...
Just standing near him had made her body react on its own. His scent, his aura... everything about him was driving her instincts wild.
A shiver ran down her spine.
She wanted him.
No... she needed him.
Natalia stood quietly beside the office door, her back resting lightly against the wall. Her breathing had calmed down, but the heat in her body hadn’t completely faded.
’He won’t be able to run,’ she told herself. ’Didn’t I already use one of my stronger skills on him? He’s not going anywhere.’
A small, confident smile appeared on her lips.
She was glad she came here herself instead of sending Edward.
Originally, Edward was supposed to visit Blackwood University today. On the surface, it was to show goodwill and respect toward the newly appointed President, Miranda Sterling. But the real purpose was completely different.
They wanted to investigate a certain "loose link" that could potentially create problems for their future plans.
That loose link... was a boy named Alexander Hale.
After digging deeper, they discovered that this seemingly ordinary student had his hands in far too many things... things a normal student should never be involved in. His sudden rise in reputation, his mysterious connections, and the way he handled certain situations had caught their attention.
What surprised them even more was Catherine.
Catherine had been quietly fading into the background for a long time. She had stopped fighting for power and had become almost invisible within the family.
But everything changed after Alex visited her manor.
From that point onward, she started showing confidence again. She began gathering her forces and once more started fighting for the throne with renewed energy.
Not only that, but they also found out that Alex had a connection with Victoria... James’s wife. And on top of that, he had even dated Sophia for a few months, even if their relationship didn’t last long.
What made things even more suspicious was that Alex had been staying in the same hotel on the same night Elyria Voss was there.
It was too much of a coincidence.
At first, Edward was going to handle it.
But after seeing the reports and hearing about Alex’s recent activities, Natalia’s interest was piqued. She decided to come personally instead.
And now, after meeting him face to face...
She was certain she made the right choice.
’This boy... is far more interesting than I expected.’
Natalia’s fingers gently traced around her lips as a dangerous glint flashed in her eyes.
She began imagining all sorts of depraved things she wanted to do to him... how she would break that calm expression of his, how she would make him lose control, how she would drain him until he could no longer think of anything except her.
The more she thought about it, the more her body grew hotter.
A soft, amused chuckle escaped her lips.
’Didn’t my son and his friends used to bully him?’ she thought. ’And from what I heard, their relationship with him isn’t exactly good either. It will be very easy to manipulate him... He’ll come to me willingly.’
The thought made her smile widen.
’How convenient.’
She almost felt bad for her son.
’I’m sorry, my dear,’ Natalia apologized inwardly to her son, though there was no trace of guilt in her voice... only quiet amusement. ’It looks like I’ll be using you to get him.’
Natalia let out a soft laugh, clearly enjoying how perfectly everything was falling into place. To her, this wasn’t just about desire anymore. It was a game, and she was already certain of her victory.
’Everything is under my control.’
She glanced toward the direction Alex had walked earlier, her eyes narrowing slightly with anticipation.
’Just wait a little longer, little wolf.’
’I’ll make sure you won’t be able to escape from me.’
***
Natalia didn’t wait any longer.
With fast, elegant steps, she walked away from the President’s office and headed toward the next office she had mentioned to Alex. Her expression was calm, but her eyes carried a sharp glint.
There were still a few annoying bugs she needed to clear before she could properly enjoy her time with him. She didn’t want anyone interrupting her in the middle.
She moved through the corridor with purpose until she finally stopped in front of a door.
Dr. Harold Brennan — Vice President.
Natalia glanced up and down the corridor. A small, satisfied smile appeared on her lips when she noticed that all the security cameras along the hallway were already turned off.
’Good for me,’ she thought.
Without wasting any more time, she raised her hand and knocked on the door... three firm, deliberate knocks.
The moment her knuckles touched the door, a noticeable stir came from inside the office. There was a sudden rush of movement, the sound of hurried footsteps, and the faint rustling of clothes, as if someone had been caught in the middle of something they shouldn’t have been doing.
Natalia’s lips curved into a mischievous smile.
She knew exactly what kind of activity they were busy with.
A few seconds later, the door opened.
A woman stood at the entrance, slightly breathless, her clothes a little disheveled and her hair not as neat as it should have been.
She looked at Natalia with a mix of surprise and hidden panic.
Natalia’s smile deepened as she looked at the woman.
The woman was about to speak, her brows furrowed in clear annoyance at being interrupted so suddenly. The words were already forming on her lips — What is it? — but the moment her eyes landed on the person standing in front of her, her voice died in her throat.
Her expression froze.
Standing there with a calm yet dangerous smile was none other than Natalia Steele.
Before she could even process what was happening, Natalia placed her hand on the door and pushed it open wider, stepping inside the office without hesitation.
The woman instinctively took a step back, her face turning pale as Natalia walked past her like she owned the place.
Inside the office, Dr. Brennan was still adjusting his clothes in a hurry, his face slightly flushed. The moment he saw Natalia enter, his body stiffened and his eyes widened in shock.
Natalia walked further into the office with unhurried steps, her high heels clicking softly against the floor. A teasing smile played on her lips as she approached Dr. Brennan.
"My, my..." she said in a playful tone, tilting her head slightly. "It looks like you were having quite a good time, Dr. Harold Brennan."
The Vice President’s face turned stiff. He opened his mouth, but no words came out immediately.
Natalia didn’t give him the chance to speak. She turned her gaze toward the young woman standing near the door. Her smile remained, but her eyes turned slightly cold.
"And you..." she said softly. "Aren’t you the wife of that history teacher? Mr. Thompson, if I’m not mistaken."
The young woman’s face instantly turned pale. Her lips trembled, but she couldn’t form a single word. Panic flashed clearly in her eyes.
Dr. Brennan felt a cold sweat form on his back. He knew he was in deep shit now. If even a rumor of this got out, his position as Vice President would be finished.
He quickly tried to compose himself and opened his mouth to explain.
"Ma’am, this is not what it looks like. I can explain—"
But Natalia raised her hand, cutting him off mid-sentence. Her playful expression didn’t change, but her tone turned firm.
"I’m not interested in your excuses," she said calmly. "I don’t care what you two were doing here."
She looked directly at both of them.
"If you don’t want any of this to come out... then get out of this office right now. Both of you. And don’t come back for at least an hour."
Her voice dropped slightly, carrying a clear warning.
"Not a minute before that."
Her voice was calm, but hidden beneath her words was her high-level skill... Suggestive Whisper.
The moment the words left her lips, an invisible pressure wrapped around both Dr. Brennan and the young woman.
They didn’t even think twice.
Both of them nodded almost immediately, their eyes slightly dazed, as if her command had sunk directly into their minds. There was no resistance. No hesitation. They simply accepted it as the only correct choice.
A wave of relief washed over their faces.
Dr. Brennan quickly adjusted his shirt and tie with slightly trembling hands, while the young woman hurriedly fixed her clothes and hair. Neither of them dared to look Natalia in the eye for too long.
Without saying another word, they both walked toward the door. Dr. Brennan opened it and stepped out first, followed closely by the young woman. They moved like people who had just been given a second chance at life.
