Chapter 2271: Follow your heart (2)
Chapter 2271: Follow your heart (2)
A wry smile slipped onto my face upon hearing this.
What she said was the truth and wasn’t the truth at the same time.
There was a part of me that did know what to do, but there was a part of me that was hesitating because of the people that I had met in this world. The bonds that I had formed in this world had been holding me back from making that decision.
But what she was saying now was...
"I have an idea, but I don’t know if it’ll be the right idea." I honestly said to her in the end.
A smile crept onto Rose’s face when she heard this before she shook her head as if she was amused by what I said.
I was a bit confused why she had this reaction, but I still waited to see what else she would say.
In the end, Rose just simply said, "What is there to think about then? Just follow your heart."
It was one simple sentence, but these were words that came from the bottom of her heart.
She was sincere when she said this to me and she wasn’t the only one that felt this way.
From the looks on everyone else’s face, it was clear that they were thinking the same.
They were saying that regardless of what happened, they would be behind me all the way until the end.
A warm feeling filled my heart when I saw these looks, but there was also a part of me that couldn’t help feeling guilty.
It wasn’t complete guilt, it was more of a mix between guilt and worry.
After all, I really had no idea what was about to happen.
But before I could say anything else, the topic suddenly changed.
"How long before you have to leave again?"
When I heard this, I couldn’t help snapping back to reality.
It wasn’t just Rose that was giving me a look, it was all of my wives that were giving me similar looks at the same time.
Now that they had given birth and some time had passed, it seemed like there were things that they wanted from me. It seemed like things had built up during the time that they had been pregnant and now they wanted the fix for that from me.
Only I didn’t feel that it was appropriate at this moment.
It wasn’t just us that were gathered, there were other people that were gathered here as well.
I could see the awkward looks that were on their faces when they saw this, so I gave a cough and changed the topic again.
"How do you feel now that you’re a married man?" I asked Noah while ignoring the question that Rose posed.
There was a smile that appeared on his face before he said, "There really isn’t much of a change."
I was surprised to hear this since it didn’t seem like Noah and Shadow One...Sakura, which was her real name, had been close to begin with. It seemed like the two of them only interacted with each other on a professional basis.
However, that was only from what I had seen and it wasn’t as if I was around that much to observe that closely.
It was my fault with how much I was running around, but it really couldn’t be helped.
It seemed like this brother in law of mine was actually much more daring than I thought he was. It seemed like he had already been flirting with her while none of us were watching.
To make sure, I couldn’t help looking over at the chancellor.
After all, he was the one that spent the most time with Noah out of all of us.
When he shook his head to show that he didn’t know, it went to show that Noah really was quite good at hiding all of this.
Other than that, we talked about how the guests had been acting during this time.
I didn’t want to talk about work, but it seemed like it wasn’t work after all.
It turned out that this was actually just gossip about the different royals and nobles that came.
When people came to weddings like this, it was natural that they would think about their own situation. Those that weren’t married yet would naturally complain about their own love lives.
From all of these complaints, they had been able to create quite the comprehensive map of how the relationship between royals went. They were even able to map out which nobles wanted to be with each other.
This wasn’t about power relationships at all, it was about what these nobles actually felt towards each other.
"So you’re saying that they actually want to elope?"
"That’s right, their parents want to force them to marry other people, but they said that they were willing to elope as long as they could be with each other."
This was gossip just for the sake of gossiping, it wasn’t about gaining any useful information at all.
This wasn’t something that we did normally, but it was certainly something that helped me relax.
For the first time in a while, I could feel the tension leaving my shoulders and I was able to relax without thinking about anything.
For the first time in a while, it felt like I was able to think things through.
It had been a long time since I had been in this state and I realized now that I had been pushing myself too hard.
I know that things were tense because of what had been happening, but sometimes one needed to stop and just relax.
Otherwise, they would be consumed by everything that they were doing like I had been about to be.
So for now, I was planning on letting everything go and just relax with my family.
In the end, it was best that I remembered what I was fighting for and why I was fighting for them.
