Chapter 5, Is teasing your son really fun?!
Chapter 5, Is teasing your son really fun?!
After filming at the school, the crew left. Jiang Youzhen never saw Jin Zhiyong and his family again after that day. Although it was a pity, he was soon occupied with most of his time by his tedious studies and scripts.
While he was busy writing his research paper, he also had to deal with the film crew. With Mads Wu around, he also had to learn Danish and English.
Knowing that his son was going to study abroad, the responsibility of taking care of the child fell on Mads-Oh. Since he also had to return to the film crew to film, Kang Woo-jin could only narrow down his options for studying abroad to New York.
It was early that day, and Kang Woo-jin, who had already finished his assignment, was taking an acting class with Mads-Oh.
Mads Wu felt a gaze fixed on him from behind. He paused, then turned around curiously.
As he turned his head, Jiang Youzhen also glanced at him. The father and son were startled to find that it was Kim Hee-ae staring at them, and then bowed their heads to greet her.
Kim Hee-ae smiled gently. She knew these two people; they were screenwriter Jiang Jingshu's husband and son. Recalling the news she had heard from her agent, she asked with a smile, "Mr. Mads Oh, you signed with Warner Bros. in the US this year, right? What new filming plans do you have after returning to Korea?"
Mads-Oh blinked, digested the Korean, smiled and nodded, replying in broken Korean, "Yes, I just finished filming a drama, and now I'm going home to spend time with my wife and kids."
"Mr. Mads-Oh's child looks a lot like you. Writer Kang is also a beauty. Will the child become an actor in the future?" Kim Hee-ae stared at Kang Woo-jin for a while, seemingly appreciating the child's serious personality at such a young age, and found it quite interesting, so she asked.
When the topic turned to him, Jiang Youzhen glanced at his father's expression, shook his head, and replied, "No one can predict the future, so I don't know if this profession is suitable for me. Thank you for your concern, Ms. Jin."
Mads-Oh laughed awkwardly, blocking his son's view, and looked at Kim Hee-ae, saying, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Anders has always been like this since he was little, please don't mind, Ms. Kim."
Kim Hee-ae smiled and shook her head. "Of course I don't mind. Kang Woo-jin is much more mature than his peers. That's quite a novel answer."
Of course it's novel, but I refuse to be disturbed, refuse PUA (Pick-Up Artist) tactics, and refuse to communicate.
From then on, trouble and social obligations no longer bothered him.
Jiang Youzhen originally wanted to answer that a good job is one that can earn money to support oneself, but considering that this answer was a bit too lenient and perfunctory, he simply changed to a vague answer that implied rejection.
At this moment, Jiang Jingshu came over, followed by a man in an old-fashioned suit. The man was handsome with thick eyebrows and big eyes. Jiang Jingshu remembered that this was the protagonist of the drama and also his cheap "father" in the script.
What was it called again...?
Oh right, Cha In-pyo.
When the lead actors were two-thirds of the way through, the director came over to call them all, and they all headed to the filming location. Before Kang Woo-jin set off, Mados-Oh pulled him aside and talked to him for a long time before Kang Woo-jin showed that half-timid and half-introverted look and expression.
The old father was satisfied, little did he know that his son was only making that expression because he was speechless.
The entire film revolves around the two villains and the protagonist. Caught between two heavy burdens, the protagonist endures and eventually erupts into darkness, escaping unscathed. Kang Woo-jin only has a few scenes, which are quickly filmed. However, to his surprise, Cha In-pyo does have some acting skills and doesn't seem like a newcomer at all.
Jiang Jingshu stayed on set the whole time, supervising the filming, offering suggestions, and even making temporary changes to a few shots.
After filming wrapped, Kang Woo-jin had to return to Seoul, but Kang Jung-seo refused, saying she could learn a lot on set, and asked Mads-Oh to bring the children over every day.
In addition to learning from his parents, Jiang Jingshu also plans to familiarize Jiang Youzhen with the operation and situation of a film crew from a young age. If he is interested in acting, becoming an actor in the future would be a good choice.
Even if she didn't say it aloud, Mados Oh could see what she was thinking: she wanted Kang Woo-jin to try his hand at acting.
The couple completely forgot that Jiang Youzhen had mentioned wanting to study abroad, and even discussed whether Jiang Youzhen should stay in China or go to the United States when they were alone.
It wasn't until the film was almost finished that the couple heard Kang Woo-jin mention buying some foreign language conversation learning DVDs, and they realized that their son had his own plans.
On the day the filming wrapped, Kang Woo-jin took the gift that Mads-Oh had brought back from New York—a brand-new camera. He still respected the crew members and actors, taking photos with them one by one, and finally taking a group photo.
When Mads Wu went to get the photos developed, he realized that the photos he had taken of the Kim siblings last time hadn't been developed yet, so he got them developed along with the photos.
Holding the freshly printed photos, Jiang Youzhen looked at the group picture, his gaze lingering on the little girl for a moment. He glanced up at Mads-Oh, who was still busy choosing gifts, and then turned to tell the photo shop clerk to print an extra copy.
A short while later, the shop assistant handed the developed photos to Jiang Youzhen. Just then, Mads-Oh, who had also finished buying his gift, took the photos and asked with a smile, "Anders, how about we go and visit our new friend in person? Dad picked out a very nice bottle of red wine and a bouquet of flowers."
Jiang Youzhen did not refuse. He held the photo hidden in his pocket, nodded, and followed his father out of the store.
The father and son got into a taxi and headed to the Kim family's address, which they had visited last time. The location wasn't far, but Jeonju was only so big. Mados Oh even joked with Kang Woo-jin that the whole of South Korea wasn't as big as a single province in China.
"Actually, I've always been curious, Dad, why haven't I seen you visit Grandpa and Grandma?" Jiang Youzhen had been curious about this for a long time, but Mads-Wu was abroad all year round, so he never had the chance to ask.
"Because my dream of becoming an actor hasn't come true yet, but thankfully I've had more scripts in the last two years. I'm always away from home. You see, I rarely spend time with your mom, let alone go to Denmark to visit your grandparents. Your grandma has some relatives in China, but we rarely keep in touch, and I'm even less likely to visit them."
Mads Wu looked up and sighed. His explanation was somewhat exaggerated, but it was all true.
Because he's busy finding scripts and going to auditions, he doesn't have much time to spend with his family. Plus, his elders are all in Denmark, so even if he wanted to, he had to postpone it.
"Dad, with your looks, you shouldn't lack resources in Hollywood."
"Yes, there are, but those wolves and tigers lust after my body, how could I allow that? Absolutely not. I only love your mother, even my first kiss and my first time were with her."
"Stop, stop, stop! Is it really okay for you to say these things to your underage son?"
Before he could hear an even more outrageous answer, Kang Woo-jin immediately interrupted Mados-Oh.
How can you drive on this awful road?!
Mads Wu shrugged and spread his hands, laughing as he said, "My dear son, according to the age system here, you're already nine years old. In Denmark, nine-year-olds can find girlfriends. Oh, by the way, I thought that little lady from last time was very cute. Does our Anders like her? He even printed an extra copy of the photo. I saw it all."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Youzhen's face stiffened. After realizing what was happening, he quickly turned his head away to look out the window, leaving only the back of his head for his immature father to see.
Mads Wu laughed loudly, clearly thinking his son's reaction was shyness, and he even pinched his son's slightly red cheek.
The taxi driver looked at them with a strange expression, wondering whether he should rip off the foreign father and son for a ride, but the moment the thought crossed his mind, he was glared at by the child in the back seat.
The look of embarrassment and anger in his eyes sent a chill down his spine, and he no longer had that thought.
