Chapter 690 - 661: Let’s Have a Daughter
Chapter 690 - 661: Let’s Have a Daughter
(November vote extra update 1)Old Master Forrester’s face turned red with anger from his great-grandson, but he was helpless against this golden treasure and glared at the laughing nursery teacher standing beside him.
"Shepherd! How do you usually teach Kyle? Why does the child always speak nonsense?"
The nursery teacher smiled, "Kyle is very clever, not only is he gifted with language, but haven’t you noticed his logic is also quite good?"
Old Master Forrester raised his hand to protest, "Good at what? Sharp-tongued! Boys should be a bit more steady!"
The nursery teacher glanced at Victor, who was standing on the sofa, his face full of spirit, and replied, "Director-General Thorne is someone who can negotiate billion-dollar deals at the WTO table, and Chairman Forrester is a leader in both the architecture and business worlds. It’s perfectly normal for their child to have a sharp tongue."
Victor patted his little chest and giggled, "Kyle is the son of Simon Forrester and Sienna Thorne! Kyle is awesome!"
Old Master Forrester was so baffled he didn’t know what to say and stormed off to watch birds in a huff.
In the evening, Simon Forrester came over after work to pick up his son. As soon as he entered the living room, Old Master Forrester quickly complained.
He recounted how Victor remained sharp-tongued during the day, raising his blood pressure and resisting correction.
Simon Forrester cradled his son, wiping the sweat off his forehead from playing and kissed his cheek dotingly, "Conversation is supposed to be a back-and-forth matter, Grandpa, you can’t allow yourself to speak and then not let the child talk. This suppresses the child’s nature and desire to express."
In Simon Forrester’s arms, Victor stuck out his tongue and made funny faces at Old Master Forrester.
Old Master Forrester, speechless from the duo’s antics, refused to keep them for dinner and waved them off.
On the way back, Simon Forrester drove while Victor quietly sat in the baby safety seat in the back.
While driving, Simon Forrester chatted with his son, "What did Kyle say today that made your great-grandpa so angry?"
Victor rested his small hand on his chin, pondering whether to tell Simon Forrester.
Simon glanced at the rearview mirror, smiled, "It’s okay, Daddy promises not to take it up with Grandpa or tell Mommy. It’ll be a secret between Daddy and Kyle, okay?"
Victor thought for a few seconds, "Okay then!"
"Great-grandpa asked me to tell Mommy to have a younger brother next year. I said Mommy is a PhD, not a housewife, and wouldn’t have a younger brother. Then Great-grandpa got upset."
It turned out Old Master Forrester wanted to pass a message through the child, urging them to have a second child.
Simon Forrester, amused yet helpless, gently replied, "Kyle, this is something between Daddy and Mommy, it’s up to us to decide, Kyle shouldn’t refuse Great-grandpa. Promise Daddy, next time when it’s not something Kyle can decide, Kyle won’t react that way, okay?"
Victor looked ashamed, "Sorry, Daddy. I’ll apologize to Great-grandpa tomorrow."
"Okay." Simon Forrester nodded with satisfaction, "Kyle is a good boy."
Back home, Victor kept his promise to Simon Forrester and didn’t mention Old Master Forrester’s words to Sienna Thornton.
After coaxing his son to sleep, Simon Forrester went downstairs to warm a cup of milk for Sienna Thornton in the study.
Sienna was new to the Economic Committee, still finding her footing, hence she had been bringing work home lately.
Simon Forrester brought the milk in, placing it on her desk, and gently massaged her stiff shoulders from behind.
"Was work smooth today?" he asked.
Sienna looked up with a smile, "It’s okay, not difficult. How about you? How’s the robot production line running?"
The Forresters established a new division two years ago, mainly for developing and producing robots. Due to technical inadequacies, the production line faced repeated bottlenecks.
"There are still some issues to resolve, but it’s not a big deal." He kept it light to avoid worrying Sienna.
Sienna set down her pen and materials, stood up, wrapped her arms around his neck, and embraced him.
He clasped her still slender waist and leaned down to kiss her lips.
She held him, her cheek pressed against his warm chest, listening to his strong heartbeat.
"If you need help, just let me know."
"Okay."
The Forresters had their eye on a robotics engineer, Finley Jefferson, who had returned from Germany. Simon Forrester sent people to approach several times but was rejected. It wasn’t until Sienna mentioned it that he learned Finley was her high school classmate.
Perhaps having Sienna persuade him might make Finley consider becoming a consultant for The Forresters, but Simon Forrester didn’t want Sienna to think The Forresters would easily lower themselves to ask for a favor, thus he never considered asking her to help.
Hugging each other, they moved their bodies slowly to the center of the study and began to dance.
Concerned about delaying Sienna’s work, Simon Forrester laughed, "Just ten more minutes of hugging, then I’ll head out."
"Okay."
In the time of love, ten minutes passed in the blink of an eye.
Simon Forrester reluctantly kissed the edge of Sienna’s ear and whispered, "You go work, I’ll be waiting for you in the room."
Sienna tiptoed to kiss his chin and let go of her arms.
After returning to the room, Simon Forrester checked to see if their son kicked off his blanket, tucked him in, and picked up a book to read. Suddenly, he noticed the pack of small pills Sienna had left on the nightstand.
...
Sienna worked until eleven before returning to the room, where Simon Forrester lay reading a book, still awake.
She went over to tuck their son in, then headed to the bathroom for washing and skincare.
When she returned, Simon Forrester moved from one side of the bed to the other, leaving a warm spot for her.
Feeling warmed inside, she slipped under the covers and lifted her face to kiss Simon.
The yellowing foreign book slowly fell to the floor, and the air was filled with the scent of love.
...
"Candy—"
"Hmm?"
"Should we have a daughter?"
Lying on Simon’s chest with her eyes closed, Sienna suddenly opened them wide, "Is your grandpa urging us for a second child?"
Simon chuckled, his warm hand kneading her shoulders, "Yes, the old man mentioned it to Kyle."
"Next year, perhaps? I just started at the Economic Committee and the pressure is quite high; it’s not a good time for pregnancy."
"Okay." Simon bent down and kissed her, "If you’re not willing, you should speak up. Regarding the second child, I’m following you."
Sienna laughed, her hand caressing his cheek, "It’s not that I’m unwilling; I really want a daughter. If it weren’t for the job change this year, we might have already begun preparing."
"Next year is better timing. Kyle will be three and a half, start kindergarten in September, and the second child can be born after that."
They quickly reached a consensus.
Sienna planned to stop medication next month to let her body adjust for half a year before starting preparations.
She’s not someone who gets pregnant easily; given her first pregnancy, it’s estimated it could take six months to a year to conceive.
Therefore, after a detailed plan, the couple projected they might conceive early next year and give birth by the end of the year.
