Chapter 1072: Caution
Chapter 1072: Caution
Lucy Wells didn’t even care that she’d been covered in slick blood, she simply and expertly used a scarf as a tourniquet."Call your husband," Lucy Wells kept her hands moving as she instructed the injured man’s wife.
The woman, stained with blood, immediately started screaming. In her panic, seeing Lucy Wells was like seeing a savior, she obeyed whatever Lucy said.
The woman shouted twice and, seeing her husband not responding, instinctively reached out to push him.
Just as her hand extended, a large hand held it, and she heard a man squatting beside them at some point say, "Don’t shake your husband now, we don’t know if he has internal injuries."
Upon hearing this, the woman broke into a cold sweat, realizing she almost harmed her husband further.
"Do you have any relatives? Call them to accompany you to the hospital," the man said softly.
The woman finally reacted, trembling, and took out her phone to call her parents.
"Dad, Dad... I, I..." The line connected, but she couldn’t utter a complete sentence.
Seeing this, the man extended his hand in front of the woman, asking for her consent, "Shall I speak with your family?"
Gratefully, the woman handed him the phone. The man briefly explained the situation, informed them of the current state, reassured them, and clarified the location, before returning the phone to the woman.
By this time, Lucy Wells had finished bandaging and was gently moving the injured man.
For an unconscious patient, their airway must be opened to prevent the tongue from blocking it, which would impede breathing.
Just after Lucy Wells completed all of this, the ambulance arrived quickly.
The medical personnel saw the condition of the injured person and realized professional first aid had been administered, gaining precious rescue time for the patient.
Lucy Wells watched the injured and his family get into the ambulance before she stood up. However, having squatted for a long time, her legs were numb, which she hadn’t realized.
Suddenly standing, she lost balance, her body swayed, about to fall.
The man beside her reached out kindly, supporting Lucy Wells’ arm, preventing her from falling: "Careful."
"Thanks," Lucy Wells quickly stood properly, took half a step back, and the man, gentlemanly, withdrew his hand, avoiding further contact.
"Let me take you home," the man said with a smile.
"No need, I’ll take the bus," Lucy Wells smiled, declining the man’s offer.
With a smile, the man pointed to the side, saying, "That’s my car." He deliberately let Lucy Wells see the training camp’s license plate.
"In your current state, taking other forms of transportation might be challenging," the reminder made Lucy Wells look down, noticing the blood from the injured person on her.
Indeed, this condition made taking other vehicles difficult.
"Alright, thank you," Lucy Wells walked over to the man’s car, asking him, "Can I make a call home, hope you don’t mind."
The man smiled, gesturing politely.
Lucy Wells took out her phone, dialed a number she’d stored but never called: "Uh... I was outside administering first aid to a car accident victim, got some blood on me, can’t take other cars back. A kind gentleman offered to drive me home. Yeah, his license plate number is..."
Lucy Wells cautiously relayed the full number, then ended the call.
