Chapter 1068: Splitting Up
Chapter 1068: Splitting Up
"Daddy is spending today with the baby." Charles Seymour’s heart felt like it was being squeezed; it ached. The little one was just too considerate."Daddy..." The little one cheered, throwing himself forward.
Charles Seymour caught the soft little bundle in his arms and gently scolded, "Don’t do that again next time; what if you fell?"
"Daddy." The little one wriggled his tiny bottom, happily pressing his little head against Charles Seymour’s solid chest, leaving him with no trace of anger.
"Lie quietly in bed, Daddy’s going to get you some food." Charles Seymour tucked the little one back into the covers. The little one obediently waited in bed for Daddy to return.
——
At the company, Charles Seymour’s secretary saw Mason Wilson coming over and stood up to say, "President Wilson, the boss isn’t in."
"Not in?" Mason Wilson asked curiously, "What time will he return?"
"I’m not sure, the boss is out discussing a business deal, I don’t know when he’ll be back." The secretary’s words made Mason Wilson nod in acknowledgment, and he left without saying more.
Holding onto the documents for a day or two wouldn’t be an issue, as the business Charles Seymour had to handle personally must be more important.
After dinner, Charles Seymour returned home.
"Is Benjamin Walton’s issue very troublesome?" Sophie Wilson asked, seeing Charles Seymour, who had changed clothes to come down for dinner.
"It’s manageable, mainly about drafting some strategies against them," Charles Seymour said, "It’s not troublesome, just a bit tedious. I don’t want any mistakes to occur."
"No need to rush," Sophie Wilson said, "Don’t tire yourself out."
"Look, you even have dark circles." Sophie Wilson reached out and gently touched the lower part of Charles Seymour’s eye.
Charles Seymour held Sophie Wilson’s hand and nodded, "I’ll be careful."
Charles Seymour’s assurance made Sophie Wilson quite happy, but...
"Mr. Seymour, can you let go, we need to eat?" Sophie Wilson raised an eyebrow and said, "Finish dinner and quickly go to sleep."
"Hmm." Charles Seymour nodded.
After finishing dinner, Charles Seymour went to rest early, and Sophie Wilson returned to the room to tidy up.
On the other side, Mia Cole was staring at the documents in her hand, her brows furrowing into a knot.
When Jason Cole came in and saw her like that, he asked, "What’s wrong?"
"Brother, I just feel that something’s off about those drug dealers we caught last time," Mia Cole said, "We followed up on it, but their leads all went cold. Their methods are really slick."
"This case has already requested assistance from trainees in other regions," Jason Cole said, "They’ll be here in a couple of days, and by then, he’ll provide us with some leads."
"Okay." Mia Cole finally felt relieved; she didn’t want such cancers to exist in her country.
"How’s Mom doing lately?" Jason Cole asked.
After all, Mia being a girl, she was closer to Mom, and it was easier to talk about things.
"What do you expect? Forced smiles." Mia Cole’s dissatisfaction showed when she mentioned this, "Hayley Cole has really done it all, getting married in secret and even hiring people to ruin someone else’s engagement party. Is she crazy?"
"She’s always been a bit off mentally." Jason Cole didn’t really want to talk about Hayley Cole. "Whenever you have time, try to keep Mom company."
"I will." Mia Cole nodded, "I’ll take care of it."
At this moment, James Reed, now without the help of Hayley Cole, amusingly looked at Benjamin Walton across from him, "Are you trying to break up the partnership?"
