Chapter 1146: He Doesn’t Take Out His Anger on the Innocent

The sound of crying was loud, and quite a few people had already looked over her way.The waiter hesitated for a moment, turned his head, and saw Alice Green leaning on the table, sobbing bitterly, her makeup smeared from crying.

She cried and whimpered lamentingly, "Why treat me like this, why..."

"Scarlett... you took away what was originally mine, what I can’t have, you... you shall not have either..."

The waiter listened and shook his head, thinking to himself that this guest was truly erratic, crying, laughing, and making a huge scene at times.

No wonder the gentleman who was with her left early without finishing his meal.

With such a mentally unstable woman, who would be in the mood to eat?

--

After leaving the restaurant, Matthew Saxon went straight back to the office.

Scarlett Yates was still waiting for him at the company; they had just agreed over the phone to have Thai food together in the evening.

As Matthew Saxon got out of the car, George immediately approached him: "Young Master, the news about you and Miss Yates getting the marriage certificate has spread everywhere, even Old Master Douglas knows, he’s just arrived at the company looking rather angry."

"Grandfather is here?" Matthew Saxon’s brow furrowed instinctively, quickening his pace.

He could imagine how angry Ian Douglas must be; otherwise, he wouldn’t have waited for him to return but came to the company himself.

"Where is he now?"

"Waiting for you in the Young Master’s office."

Matthew Saxon paused, his face darkening immediately as he stopped and turned, his eyes full of anger: "You let him be alone with Scarlett, George, don’t you know that Grandfather just raised his hand against her today."

His eyes seemed almost to blaze with fire; without waiting for George to speak, he angrily continued: "Before I left, what did I instruct you? If you don’t stay upstairs properly to watch her, why are you running over here?"

He rarely lost his temper directly with George; now, the urgency and anger overwhelmed him. Just the thought of the furious Ian Douglas alone with Scarlett Yates made him anxious and upset.

How could he be at ease with Ian Douglas’s violent temper?

Seeing him lose his temper, George quickly said: "Young Master, don’t worry, Old Master Douglas didn’t do anything to Miss Yates... Young Madam. He said he is here to see you and mentioned that going to get the certificate so quickly must be your idea, and he wouldn’t vent on innocent people."

"He said that?"

If Ian Douglas truly said that, then he wouldn’t really vent on Scarlett Yates.

George nodded: "Yes, Old Master Douglas said it himself."

"Since he said that, he probably won’t trouble Scarlett, but I’m just worried Scarlett might start arguing with him again." Speaking of this, he frowned and walked even quicker.

When he entered the elevator, George had just pressed the floor button, and Matthew Saxon’s eyes kept glancing towards the elevator buttons, still feeling uneasy.

As soon as the elevator stopped, Matthew Saxon immediately walked out.

Outside the office door, he paused and listened, it seemed there was no commotion inside.

Apparently, his concerns had not materialized.

Relaxing slightly, he then opened the door unhurriedly.

As soon as the door opened, three pairs of eyes were all directly looking over at him.

Ian Douglas, Uncle Spencer, and Scarlett Yates all coincidentally looking in the same direction.

Scarlett Yates was nestled on the sofa, Ian Douglas sat at the desk, while Uncle Spencer stood behind him.
