Chapter 1320 - 1315: The Young Lady Is Just Like the Madam

In the master bedroom, as soon as Panda Eyes saw Sophie Foster, it circled around her feet, tail swishing as it whimpered nonstop, almost like it was acting spoiled. Wherever Sophie went, it followed.Auntie Wang was helping Xiao Mei sort the clothes, flicking them open and sliding them onto hangers. She turned her head, puzzled, and said, "Oh my, looks like Panda Eyes is fated with the new young lady. It’s really taken a liking to her."

Xiao Mei kept tidying as she laughed and said, "Auntie Wang, you’re fated with the young lady too."

Sophie Foster stood by the window, one hand resting on the frame of the hanging chair. She’d bought all of this when she was pregnant, because the doctor said a pregnant woman needed plenty of sun for the baby to be healthy. It had been winter then; she was afraid of catching a cold if she went outside, so she bought a hanging chair and put it in front of the floor-to-ceiling window to swing and sunbathe at the same time...

After half a year away, coming home again, Sophie had the feeling of revisiting an old haunt. Her face was calm, but inside her heart was churning nonstop.

Auntie Wang turned back, bumped Xiao Mei with her shoulder, and asked in a low voice, "Do you know what the new young lady’s background is?" Not only had she bewitched Sir, she’d even charmed Panda Eyes, who had only ever been loyal to Madam.

Xiao Mei turned to look at Auntie Wang and said with a smile, "How would I know? Anyway, the young lady’s really nice, just like Madam."

Hearing Xiao Mei praise the new young lady like that, Auntie Wang pursed her lips in displeasure. She slipped the last piece of clothing onto a hanger and muttered under her breath, "That’s not the same. There’s only one Madam in this world. No one can compare to her."

"Auntie Wang, you’re old. You’re out of touch," Xiao Mei said, hefting two big stacks of clothes. She tapped a finger against her own temple and walked toward the walk-in closet.

Auntie Wang also picked up some clothes and followed, still muttering her disagreement as she walked. "This isn’t called out of touch. This is called being sentimental."

Sophie sat in the hanging chair. Panda Eyes leapt up in one bound and curled itself on her lap. Sophie gently rocked the chair, one hand lightly stroking Panda Eyes’ head. When Auntie Wang came out of the walk-in closet and saw this scene, she froze in the distance.

A person might completely change her face, but what couldn’t be changed was her figure.

At that moment Sophie was sitting facing the window, her back toward Auntie Wang. After staring for a moment, Auntie Wang instinctively raised her hand. "Ma—"

"Shh..." Auntie Wang had barely called out one syllable when Xiao Mei, who had followed her out, clapped a hand over her mouth and made a hush gesture at her. Auntie Wang, baffled, turned to Xiao Mei, blinked a few times, and then suddenly seemed to understand something. Her eyes widened first, then the hand she had half raised slowly drew back to cover her own lips, her eyes rimmed with red.

Animals recognize people by scent. No matter how their owner disguises herself, they’ll identify her by smell. That was exactly what Panda Eyes had done. At first it wandered around Xiao Mei, but the moment Sophie walked into the bedroom, it abandoned Xiao Mei at once and darted in front of her, nose pressed to her feet, then her calves, sniffing carefully. After that it just stayed by her side, whimpering.

Hannah Hargrave had been taken away by ambulance. She came to halfway there and threw a huge tantrum, insisting on going home. The medical staff in the ambulance had no choice but to turn around and bring her back.

It was close to noon. Xiao Mei and Auntie Wang were busy together in the kitchen, making a whole table of dishes. When Hannah was brought back by ambulance, the four of them were sitting at the dining table eating lunch.

She walked into the hall and it seemed no one even noticed.
