Chapter 1318 - 1313: Returning to the Villa

The next day was the weekend, no work, and Nicholas Croft got up at eight.He had worked until late at night, resting with a thin blanket on the chair, and slept uncomfortably with a stiff neck and body.

Rubbing his neck as he walked out of the study, he looked up and saw Sophie Foster already dressed sitting on the sofa, with a suitcase at her feet.

"Baby..." Nicholas frowned in confusion, and Sophie looked at him coldly and said.

"Let’s eat and then we’re going back to the villa."

He thought she had changed her mind after being upset last night.

Nodding, he walked quickly to the dining table, ate breakfast, and after freshening up, he rested his hand on Sophie’s shoulder seriously before leaving and asked, "Are you sure you want to go back and live there?"

Sophie looked at him coldly and said, "If we don’t go back, how will we deal with the scoundrel?"

Hannah Hargrave sat on the sofa with her arms crossed, her expression not pleasant, squinting slightly as she stared at a certain direction, contemplating unknown thoughts.

The sound of a car engine from outside brought her back to her senses, and she glanced towards the door with an indifferent expression, then looked forward coldly again.

Hearing the sound of a car door being slammed shut, Hannah abruptly turned back, looking towards the door as she instructed, "Auntie Wang, go see who’s come to the house?"

"Yes, madam," Auntie Wang replied cheerfully, trotting out of the kitchen towards the door, wiping her hands on her apron as she opened the door.

Auntie Wang stood at the door, her eyes drawn to Sophie Foster who was holding Nicholas Croft’s arm, feeling that the woman seemed familiar but couldn’t immediately recall.

Auntie Wang was surprised to see that Little Mei, who used to be a nanny for a while, was also following behind them, pulling a suitcase and waving to her with a smile.

"Nicholas is back?" Hannah was somewhat incredulous, standing up from the sofa and walking suspiciously towards the door.

With Sophie’s arm in his, Nicholas walked up to the door, and Auntie Wang instinctively stepped aside, curiously staring at Sophie and forgetting to help the owners with their slippers.

Seeing Nicholas come back arm-in-arm with his "Goddaughter," Hannah was immediately displeased and questioned, "Nicholas Croft, what do you mean by bringing this woman home!"

Sophie arrogantly raised her chin, glancing sideways at Hannah, a faint smile curled at her lips, seeming mockingly provocative.

Nicholas turned his gaze to Sophie, placed his hand over the one holding his arm, patted gently, and said in good humor, "Baby is my recognized Goddaughter, what’s so surprising about bringing her home to stay?"

"Surprising?" Hannah frowned in disbelief, then pointed an accusing finger at Sophie, "You bring your mistress home to stay and still say I’m overreacting? Nicholas Croft, you go too far!"

"Auntie Wang, get the slippers."

Nicholas said to the now-dumbfounded Auntie Wang, who only then reacted, opened the shoe cabinet, and placed two pairs of slippers on the ground, then stood aside again.

As he changed out of his shoes, Nicholas casually said, "Hannah, don’t say that. What’s this about a mistress or not; it could cause misunderstandings. Baby is my recognized Goddaughter, and I’m her Godfather. Having a Godfather bring his Goddaughter home is a perfectly normal thing, don’t distort the facts."

Her pointed finger at Sophie was visibly trembling, repeating "you" twice, unable to say anything more.

After changing into slippers, Nicholas turned around, squatted in front of Sophie, and patiently helped her out of her stilettos, putting the slippers on her feet.
