Chapter 1287 - 1282: Women Are All Fickle
Seeing Sophia Hamilton already opening the door of the Bentley parked in front, Evander Lancaster hurriedly pushed open the driver’s side door. "Sophia, over here!"Sophia Hamilton cast him a proud glance, then sat in the back seat of the Bentley. "Driver, let’s go."
The black Bentley slowly started up, and only when Evander Lancaster saw the luxury car turn in place did he realize, belatedly, that the car was waiting downstairs for Sophia Hamilton.
He closed the driver’s door and turned his car around, following behind the Bentley. After driving some distance, Evander Lancaster finally realized that the luxury car was the designated car Nathan Moore had paired with Titus Zane, who had bragged about it among a few brothers after getting the license plate, xxMZ27.
Evander Lancaster raised his hand to pound the steering wheel, turning his head aside in anger and taking a deep breath.
Clearly, it was Titus Zane stirring trouble; otherwise, whose driver would dare act on their own? Not even Nathan Moore had the authority.
The feeling of suffering in silence, with no place to complain.
Knowing it was Titus Zane’s car taking Sophia Hamilton to work, Evander Lancaster stopped following and turned towards the hospital at the intersection.
Sophia Hamilton, sitting in the back seat, observed Evander Lancaster changing direction through the front rearview mirror, a smug smile playing on her lips.
Madam is right; you can’t forgive him so easily. You have to make him suffer a little to cherish you more. Her hand instinctively reached for the cross-body bag settled on the seat. Unlike other girls her age whose bags are filled with cosmetics, hers was stuffed with a lot of delicious food.
To create obstacles for Evander Lancaster, Titus Zane had also put in considerable effort. In the morning, she had brought an art folder to follow Nathan Moore to the company while he went to work, drawing quietly while Nathan Moore worked.
The morning was quiet; Evander Lancaster was working at the hospital and didn’t have time to visit the company. During lunch break, Evander Lancaster left the hospital early to see Sophia Hamilton.
He ordered lunch to be delivered to the secretary’s desk in Nathan Moore’s president’s office, intending to have lunch with Sophia Hamilton. Unexpectedly, as the restaurant had just delivered the meal, Titus Zane took Sophia Hamilton away.
Titus Zane walked out of the office with Nathan Moore, initially planning to have lunch together, but she changed her mind upon seeing Evander Lancaster only drinking.
After greeting Evander Lancaster, she instructed Sophia Hamilton.
"Secretary Hamilton, get ready and come out with me."
Sophia Hamilton understood Titus Zane’s intention, the plan between two women, promptly responding with a serious expression, pulling her cross-body bag from the cabinet beneath the secretary’s desk and stepping out.
Evander Lancaster...
The restaurant had just delivered the meal, yet his woman hadn’t had lunch, and having recently gone through a miscarriage, she needed nourishment!
"Madam, it’s lunch break. Let’s wait until Sophia has eaten before going with you."
Titus Zane seemed not to notice Evander Lancaster’s indirect attempt to stop her, expressing concern, "I’ve been feeling quite irritable these days and want someone to accompany me shopping to relieve some stress. I don’t have many friends in T City, and Sophia happens to be free."
Evander Lancaster...
He almost said, "You can invite Sister-in-law Three to go shopping together."
But the words stuck in his throat.
Clearly, Titus Zane was doing it on purpose, although Evander Lancaster didn’t know why he had provoked this revered person.
"Nathan," Evander turned to Nathan Moore, seeking his help to prevent his woman from being taken away.
Nathan Moore did express some concern, but for his own woman, not to aid him.
He placed his hand on Titus Zane’s shoulder, furrowed his brow, and sighed, "Ah, go ahead, buy some new clothes. Maybe it’ll improve your mood."
After speaking, Nathan Moore looked at Sophia Hamilton, "Secretary Hamilton, please accompany my wife to relax a bit."
"That’s no trouble; accompanying Madam is part of my job." Sophia Hamilton replied formally.
Titus Zane led the way, with Sophia Hamilton following behind, watching the two women’s silhouettes enter the elevator before Evander Lancaster withdrew his gaze, looking at Nathan Moore with a gloomy expression and asking.
"Nathan, if I’m not mistaken, I don’t recall offending Sister-in-law. Why does she seem to be targeting me deliberately?"
"No, you’re overthinking it." Nathan Moore walked to the secretary’s desk, with one hand in his pants pocket and another lifting the lid on the food box, looking inside—stir-fried shrimp, not bad.
"How could it be? You clearly saw it just now; Sister-in-law called Sophia outside only after seeing me." Evander Lancaster described the situation with some grievance.
Nathan Moore’s mind was preoccupied with the delicious food at the secretary’s desk; he lifted the lid on another food box and glanced at it, responding casually, "Perhaps, women are indeed unpredictable; even I don’t get it."
With that, Nathan Moore carried the food box back to his own office. Originally, the couple had planned to go to lunch, but his wife changed her mind upon seeing Evander Lancaster, so he had to make do with the lunch Evander ordered—consider it compensation for himself.
Seeing Nathan Moore carry the food box back to his office, Evander Lancaster inhaled, speechless, quickly reversing course and rushing to catch up, "Wait for me, that’s a portion for two!"
Titus Zane brought Sophia Hamilton to a restaurant, and the two women ordered a table full of delicious food.
"Madam, you treat this time, and next time I’ll have Evander treat you." Sophia Hamilton rubbed her hands together. Ever since having a baby, she couldn’t control her appetite, wanting to eat everything she saw, with her food intake significantly increasing.
"You’re younger than me, just call me sis; don’t use Madam, it’s too distant." Titus Zane picked up the chopsticks elegantly, placing a piece of tenderloin on Sophia Hamilton’s plate with grace and cultured behavior, reflecting a well-educated woman.
Sophia Hamilton also grabbed her chopsticks, smiling, "Then I won’t stand on ceremony!"
Watching Sophia Hamilton eat with relish, Titus Zane felt envious because if she had a baby, she would surely eat whatever she wanted without worrying about gaining weight or depriving her baby.
Inside Nathan Moore’s office, both men were sitting on the guest sofa, each holding a food box and eating lunch.
Nathan Moore ate happily—he didn’t have to spend any money yet enjoyed delicious food delivered right to the door, while Evander Lancaster ate with frustration.
Watching Nathan Moore sipping sea cucumber soup with a small spoon, Evander Lancaster’s phoenix eyes expressed noticeable grievance. The lunch he ordered for himself, the beef entrée, ended up being taken by his brother.
"Evander, do you want to try some? It’s quite authentic," Nathan Moore, seemingly oblivious to Evander Lancaster’s grievance, offered courteously before swallowing a spoonful of sea cucumber soup.
Evander Lancaster snorted coldly, obviously displeased, picking up a piece of fish, "Hyde Park’s chef prepared it; of course, the flavor is top-notch!"
"Mm, I thought so; the taste is very familiar." Nathan Moore casually cradled a small bucket of sea cucumber soup, savoring the flavor.
If they weren’t childhood friends, Evander Lancaster would truly not want to associate with him!
