Chapter 1283 - 1278: Not Excessive, He Brought It on Himself
After sending off Evander Lancaster, Nathan Moore stood at the company entrance with Titus Zane, waiting for Sophia Hamilton to come out.Titus Zane’s status in Nathan Moore’s heart was now akin to a national treasure. A dedicated chauffeur was arranged for her, and even lunch deliveries were handled by phone.
Sophia Hamilton was rummaging through her crossbody bag as she approached the revolving glass door. As she stepped out of the company’s main entrance and saw Nathan and Titus standing there, she paused briefly before smiling to greet them. But Titus spoke first.
"Sophia, let my driver take you home. You’re still not fully recovered."
"This... isn’t really appropriate." Sophia looked at Titus and then at Nathan.
"What’s inappropriate about it? Evander just came to pick you up, and I sent him off. Go ahead; otherwise, the driver will be heading back with an empty car." Titus pointed towards the road, and Nathan turned to one side, continuing to smoke. His wife’s decision was the decree.
"Well then, sorry for the trouble, both of you." Faced with Titus’s insistence, Sophia couldn’t refuse. She nodded slightly and walked towards the Bentley parked by the roadside. As she moved farther away from Titus, she sighed with resignation, realizing she’d need to take public transport tomorrow morning.
"Let’s go home too," Nathan said, tossing away the cigarette, wrapping his arm around Titus’s shoulder.
On the way back, Nathan teased while driving, "My dear, I paid for a driver to serve you, and yet you let someone else use him. Now you’re making your husband play taxi driver for free. I’ve already had a long day. Doesn’t your heart ache for me?"
Titus lifted her chin proudly, letting out a cold snort, "Having you as my driver is your privilege. You should be worried if I ever get tired of you!"
Nathan noticed his woman becoming more adorable, brighter, and less aloof with each passing day. With a smile, he agreed as he looked ahead, "Yes, yes, it’s my honor if you let me be your driver, dear."
After saying this, he stole a glance at her, leaning closer. "Darling, with me being so good, is there a treat for tonight?"
"Hmm... depends on my mood." Titus was even more haughty now, her chin raised so high it seemed to reach the sky.
After returning to his apartment, Evander Lancaster mulled over it for a while, then grabbed his car keys and headed downstairs, opening the car door to drive towards Nathan Moore’s place.
Going there meant he could get a free meal and see his woman, killing two birds with one stone.
Evander arrived at Nathan’s villa with joy, and stepped into the hall where the couple was having dinner at the dining table.
Evander changed into slippers and approached the table with a smile, "Looks like timing is everything. I haven’t eaten yet."
"Hello, Evander, we just started eating," Titus said with a smile, while Nathan glanced at Evander with disinterest.
"Where’s Sophia?" Evander asked as he noticed that she wasn’t at the table.
"Oh, Sophia wasn’t feeling well on the way back, so I let the driver take her home," Titus casually said, adding some vegetable hearts to Nathan’s bowl, who obligingly opened his mouth.
Evander...
He couldn’t shake the feeling that this couple was intentionally messing with him.
With a speechless sigh, he turned to leave, "You two eat; I’ll go check on Sophia."
Watching Evander’s silhouette disappear out their door, Titus held up a piece of fish belly, hesitating slightly, "Husband, do you think I went too far?"
"Not at all. He brought it upon himself." Nathan opened his mouth to eat the fish, while Titus stabbed at her rice with her chopsticks, "I’m relieved you say so, otherwise I’d feel guilty."
